Collection contains mainly Price's artwork from 1918-1969, including cover illustrations for "The New Yorker," including drafts and sketches; cartoons; sketches and sketchbooks, including his works while in France and Mexico, and a picture diary of those trips; advertisements; illustrations for books and book covers; and watercolors. The collection also contains diaries (1942-1973, bulk 1940s-1950s); correspondence (1909-1973) with editors and his family; and miscellaneous biographical information and photographs.

Price was born in Kansas in 1895 and his family later settled in Saratoga, Wyoming. He enrolled at the University of Wyoming from 1912-1914 before attending the Chicago Institute of Art. Following graduation he worked at the Chicago "Tribune" from 1916-1925 as an illustrator. Price later moved to New York City where he worked as a freelance illustrator and artist before working for "The New Yorker" for the next forty years as an illustrator and cartoonist.
